The New Normal Cholesterol Levels

Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that is naturally present in cell walls or membranes everywhere in the body. What’s important to know is that your body uses cholesterol to produce many hormones, as well as one of the most important vitamins in the body – Vitamin D.

“High” cholesterol in your bloodstream can lead to narrowing of the arteries, which can cause a heart attack or stroke. So your goal is to have “healthy” cholesterol levels – not too high or too low.

But one thing to keep in mind is that cholesterol levels is just ONE of many factors that can cause a heart attack or stroke and usually, it’s NOT the most important factor.

What Do Your Cholesterol Numbers Mean?

LDL Cholesterol

LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol can build up on the walls of your arteries and increase your chances of getting heart disease. That is why LDL cholesterol is referred to as “bad” cholesterol.

Your goal should be to keep it below 140 mg/dL. But the total RATIO of HDL/LDL actually matters more…

LDL cholesterol (U.S.) LDL cholesterol* (Canada/Europe)
Below 70 mg/dL Below 1.8 mmol/L Ideal for people at very high risk of heart disease
Below 100 mg/dL Below 2.6 mmol/L Ideal for people at risk of heart disease
100-129 mg/dL 2.6-3.3 mmol/L Near ideal
130-159 mg/dL 3.4-4.1 mmol/L Borderline high
160-189 mg/dL 4.1-4.9 mmol/L High
190 mg/dL and above Above 4.9 mmol/L Very high

HDL Cholesterol

HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) helps to prevent your arteries from becoming blocked due to LDL.

It does this by “cleaning” and “hauling” away the excess cholesterol, lining the walls of your blood vessels, … then bringing it back to the liver for reprocessing.

So your goal is higher HDL and lower LDL.

HDL cholesterol (U.S.) HDL cholesterol* (Canada/Europe)
Below 45 mg/dL Below 1.1 mmol/L Poor
40-49 mg/dL 1-1.3 mmol/L Better
60 mg/dL and above 1.6 mmol/L and above Best

Triglycerides

Triglycerides are the form in which most fat exists in food and the body. It’s often increased by sugars and alcohol.

Triglycerides Risk Factor
Less than 150
Normal
150-199 Borderline high
200-499 High
500 and above Very high

Total Cholesterol Numbers

Your total blood cholesterol is a measure of LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and other lipid components. So it’s a combination of numerous numbers and this is why most people just focus on this number for simplicity reasons.

Your goal for total cholesterol should be 220 mg/dL or below and preferably below 200 mg/dL

Remember, you don’t want your cholesterol to be too low either, as seen with those who use statin prescription drugs and this is because cholesterol is needed to produce many of your good “youth” hormones.

The following chart summarizes everything for you:

But as I stated earlier, there’s something else I want you to consider…

The BIG Picture

heart-disease-stats

Did you know that heart disease is the #1 killer, killing more people each year than ALL the other diseases COMBINED?!!

So, improving your cholesterol levels is very important… but it’s just ONE factor out of many, when it comes to preventing and reversing heart disease.

You also need to improve your HDL/LDL ratios, triglycerides, homocysteine and other lipid levels.

Ultimately, your goal isn’t even to lower cholesterol or to prevent heart disease – but to NOT have a heart attack or stroke.

It’s to NOT die prematurely.

The “Problem”

problem-of-cholesterol

Managing your lipid profiles is probably one of the most important aspects to health, longevity and disease prevention. Unfortunately, it can sometimes get confusing or you might feel overwhelmed with too much information — what to DO or NOT do.

Plus, making dramatic life-style changes — such as eating much better, eliminating lots of different foods and exercising daily — is very important but for many people can be difficult to start and it takes a longer time to see results.

And taking “statin” prescription drugs is never a good solution because of all the negative side-effects…

Now, I’m very familiar with this topic because these are all the same challenges I ran into with both my parents back in 1999.

Because of this, I wanted a solution for my parents that was safe, worked quickly and was easy. So I created a simple, very effective and proven “all-in-one” solution called CholesLo™… which is a small pill that helps to naturally:

  • Lower your LDL (“bad” cholesterol)
  • Raise your HDL (“good” cholesterol)
  • Lower triglycerides & Homocysteine levels.
  • Cleanse your liver (where cholesterol is produced).

CholesLo
One major reason CholesLo™ is better than other options is because its doctor formulated and clinically tested to work.

The feedback has been amazing … and since the product has been around for almost 15 years, you know it works and it’s safe!
