A friend of mine forwarded me these pictures in an email a few weeks back. The reason I’m showing you these, is not because of politics, or to say anything negative OR positive about the US, Japan or anyone else.

But, the point is on a PERSONAL level.

When I saw these pictures (just make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom…), later I thought to myself “Hmm… where am I going to be a year from now?… 5, 10, 20+ years?”

I want you to ask yourself this same question. Relationships, financial or health – are you going to get ACTIVE and change your life, or just let it “fall apart” (as it has in the below pictures of Detroit)?

And trust me, money can be made and lost – but your health is not something for you to ignore. Are you going to allow yourself to get fatter, become unhealthier, let your insides (heart, lungs, arteries, muscles) get weaker and weaker?

At the end, it’s up to YOU. Just don’t make silly, “lazy” excuses because at the end, YOU are the only person who loses or wins!….

Again, the point of this email is NOT political, but PERSONAL. Where are YOU going to be in 1, 3, 5, 10+ years? And honestly, it ALWAYS starts with your health – both physical and mental.

I hope you’ll utilize this newsletter to hopefully MOTIVATE yourself to make a positive change, rather than “feel sorry” or make a “lazy excuse”.

Remember, change happens in an instant … a split second. Let me know your thoughts below, I do read them all. Thanks!

With sincere appreciation & warmest regards,

I try to keep my articles any anything I write or speak about, short and to the point. I figure, you’re busy and nobody wants to read endless amounts of paragraphs. “Just give me the facts and an action plan and I’m on my way!”.

So, here’s the deal:

I Bet $1000.00 YOU’RE Deficient In Vitamin D!

How can I make such a “prediction”?

Research shows that over 87% of the American population is deficient in vitamin D. And, close to 97% of African Americans or deeply pigmented individuals.

Add to it the fact that many people are scared of the sun because of skin cancer(total BS, read my Tanning Prevents Skin Cancer article), most people are indoors almost the entire day and you have a massive population of people who rarely get direct sunlight on their body.

“So, What’s The Big Deal?…”

Simple, vitamin D deficiency has been CLEARLY linked to the following diseases:

Cancer

Fatigue & Low Energy

Heart disease

Depression

Obesity & Weight Gain

Rheumatoid arthritis

Diabetes 1 and 2

Multiple Sclerosis

Crohn’s disease

Cold & Flu

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Tuberculosis

Septicemia

Signs of aging

Dementia

Eczema & Psoriasis

Insomnia

Hearing loss

Muscle pain

Cavities

Periodontal disease

Osteoporosis

Macular degeneration

Reduced C-section risk

Hypertension

Seizures

Low Sex Drive

Asthma

Cystic fibrosis

Migraines

Autism

Alzheimer’s disease

Schizophrenia

Of course, lack of vitamin D isn’t going to cause all the above problems for you. But if you do have one of the above “issues”, it’s a good guarantee that your vitamin D deficiency is making it worse.

Increasing Vitamin D3,
Can Save Over 1.2 Million Lives Yearly!

The newest research shows that simply increasing levels of vitamin D3, could prevent diseases that claim over 1.2 million lives, each and every year.

It’s such an EASY and INEXPENSIVE solution, you’d be crazy not to do something about it right now…

“What Can You Do RIGHT Now?…”

It’s easy, here’s what I suggest:

IF you can, try to get out in sunlight every day. You can read my tanning article for specifics.

If you can’t get some natural sunlight, you can try tanning beds. But, well… I’m still not too hot on this idea, since most commercial brands aren’t well maintained and people tend to overdo it and get burned.

The simplest solution is to just take oral vitamin D3 pills daily – that’s what I do!

“How Much Should I Take?”

Vitamin D3

My very generalized answer for adults, is to take 2000-5000 units daily, with food, but take the weekends OFF. And it’s best to take it in the morning with your breakfast. So, every WEEKDAY, take a 2000-5000 unit pill (they are super small)with breakfast. Don’t take any Saturday/Sunday.

I use the 5000 unit version by Now Foods, 120 pills per bottle for about $8. It works out to about 6 cents a day. They’re a good company, super cheap, and very convenient. You can get it anywhere online or at a local vitamin store.

Of course, ideally you would get blood tests to see where your current levels are and adjust your Vitamin D dosage accordingly. But I know most people won’t do this(hassle, expense, etc.).

BUT, if you do, your optimal level should be between 50-65 ng/ml.

Conclusion & Summary

Almost everything alive on this planet NEEDS the sun. Vitamin D is one of its many benefits. Close to 90% of people are deficient and it leads to dozens of common diseases.

Try to get more sunlight when you can and take a Vitamin D3 supplement daily. Preferably 5000 units weekdays, with the weekends off.

For about a nickel a day, you simply can’t go wrong…

In my previous article, I wrote about aspirin and all of its health related problems. It became somewhat controversial and we received a TON of emails, questions and so forth. BUT, it was nice to see educated doctors and researchers emailing me and giving praise and backing up my information.

Anyway, if you missed it or need a reminder, please (re)read it again. Let’s continue where we left off …

It’s NOT A “Nutrient” or “Supplement” …

There was a study done about a year ago that when doctors asked patients if they take any DRUGS on a regular basis, the response was usually “NO … only some vitamins and an aspirin daily for my heart”.

Umm … did you read that? … They answered “NO” when asked if they take drugs and yet, they ARE taking a DRUG - it’s called aspirin!

The reason most answered “no” is because aspirin has become so common and accepted, that most consider it a nutrient or a “supplement”, instead of the CHEMICAL poison it really is. Over 27 MILLION people take it daily, “just because” and without giving it a second thought. No differently than they do their multi-vitamins.

Heck, they take their aspirin more consistently on a daily basis, than they do their vitamins!

The REAL Ingredient Behind Aspirin’s
“Heart-Healthy” Benefits

The massive ERROR that glorified aspirin as a preventive compound was brought about by a group of bungling doctors who tested it and concluded that there was a resulting “40 percent reduction in non-fatal heart attacks”. The researchers’ mistake was so awesomely simple that it will make you wonder if you can trust any American research anymore.

What the investigators used in their study was not just aspirin but Bufferin, which contains a good dose of magnesium.

By including magnesium, which itself prevents blood clots, dilates blood vessels, and prevents dangerous heart irregularities – the doctors completely invalidatedtheir aspirin research.

In fact, I would venture to say, based on what I know about magnesium and on the mounting evidence against aspirin, that the “aspirin part” of this combination didn’t have anything to do with that “40 percent reduction in heart attack risk.” My money’s on magnesium as the ingredient that did *MOST* of the good work.

But the pharmaceutical companies (they are very smart when it comes to making cash) jumped on the study and revolutionized the use of aspirin, increasing its sale 100-fold. Every year, 40 million pounds of aspirin are produced in the United States – 200 tablets for every man, woman, and child. At the rate things are going, that may not be enough.

Simple Action Steps & Alernatives To Aspirin

WHITE WILLOW BARK – Pain Relief
If you feel that you need an aspirin-like pill in your diet on a daily basis (and most likely you do NOT) then take white willow bark instead. It contains salicin, the natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory substance that served as the basis for modern-day aspirin. It will relieve your pain and swellingexactly like aspirin, but without the bleeding problems, heart attack risk, or potential for long-term vision loss. White willow bark tablets are available in any health food store.

COD LIVER OIL – Better Blood Flow
Cod liver oil, which is also readily available, will help your blood flow more smoothly and also help alleviate pain and inflammation. Take four capsules a day. In fact, most fish oils will do a great job (I’ll write an article about this in the very near future.)

BROMALAIN – Reduce Inflammation
Bromelain, an enzyme found in pineapples, is another natural option for preventing blood clots and easing inflammation (best for preventing inflammation). It’s available in health food stores as well.Just be sure you take it on an empty stomach and definitely do NOT take it if you’re on any other blood-thinning medication.

NATTOKINASE – “Clot Busting” Enzyme
If you’re very desperate for blood clot relief, you can also try Nattokinase. It’s made from a Japanese food product called natto. Natto, the food, is a goopy, stinking fermented cheese made from soybeans. It smells like dirty socks.Nattokinase, the clot-busting enzyme, has been put into capsule form, and I don’t think it smells quite so pungent. I doubt you need it, but it’s available from numerous on-line sources and probably some health food stores if you want to try it out.Just be careful with this one: Like bromelain, it should NOT be taken in conjunction with any other blood thinners. Plus, since it’s made from soybeans, I’m not sure yet how I feel about it-clot-busting effects notwithstanding. (You can re-read my thoughts about how bad soybeans can be for you)

MAGNESIUM – The “Wonder” Mineral
Of course, don’t forget to take some magnesium as well. Take about 400 mgs a day, at bed time would be best for better sleep.

CholesLo™ – The “Vitamin For Your Heart”
Last but not least – my favorite “all in one” solution that both my parents have been taking for over a decade now.If you have a family history of cholesterol, heart disease, strokes or anything similar to that or you currently have high cholesterol or are on a cholesterol reduction drug – make sure you take CholesLo™. The ingredients have been clinically proven to work and be safe for long-term use for healthy heart and cholesterol levels. Plus, the Los Angeles Times stated the “CholesLo™ is like a ‘vitamin for your heart’ and can be used daily”. It’s completely natural and works WITH your body, and not against it.

Well, that’s about it for now … I not only told you WHAT the problem with aspirin is, but I also gave you very easy, INEXPENSIVE and powerful solutions and alternatives.

I WILL be writing a VERY informative article about magnesium – this awesome nutrient … It will be out in a few weeks as I’m not done with the research. So please stay tuned and thanks again for taking the time to read another article!

Aspirin has been around for over half a century. It’s primary and “original” use was for pain relief. But when Tylenol and NSAIDs (such as Advil) took over the pain relief field, the aspirin industry “bigwigs” pulled out the “big guns” and went after:heart disease.

What the heck, they figured. After all, a billion-dollar medicine has to go somewhere. And like most businesses, you have to keep growing and finding new “revenue streams” to increase revenue and profits. So, the “big killer” of heart disease seemed like a natural avenue to go down.

So aspirin decided acquire“new indications” as a blood-clot fighter and is already widely used to treat and prevent strokes and heart attacks.

It Didn’t Work For Apples…

Just about every male I know over the age of 60 (including younger men) and many women (BOTH my parents in fact) are taking “an aspirin a day to keep the doctor away.” Well, it didn’t work for apples and I don’t think it works for aspirin either. But that isn’t stopping its promoters from telling people it will do that and a whole lot more.

Crazy Claims

Take a quick look at some of the other claims the “Aspirin Institute” is making about its product. The “Institute” strongly hints (“studies suggest that…”) that this “miracle drug” cures, decreases, alleviates, or prevents:

Breast cancer

Migraine headaches

Hodgkin’s disease Alzheimer’s disease

Prostate cancer

Cancer of the pancreas

Colon cancer Birth defects

Leukemia Immune disorders, including AIDS

And that’s just a partial list, But geez … take a look at the last one - AIDS! Wow, if Aspirin really could do that, it would be a “miracle” drug, right? …

So the “experts” seem to think that at least 95 percent of the population needs aspirin on a daily basis. But the dangers associated with extensive use of aspirin are downright horrifying.

Side Comment: Wow! … What a great marketing scam. Imagine how much profits the Aspirin corporations would make if 95% of the population really was taking their drug?!?! And that’s month after month, year after year!

Aspirin May Do The OPPOSITE!…

Researchers have reported that aspirin might, in fact, increase your risk for stroke, heart attack, macular degeneration (blindness), and cataract formation! You didn’t hear anything about these findings because no one reported on them in the popular press. So if you don’t read medical journals in your spare time, you probably missed these REAL bits of news.

Here’s what the researchers have to say:

40% of people who regularly take large doses of aspirin actually demonstrated an INCREASED risk of both stroke and heart attack.

Regular aspirin users have a significantly increased risk of macular degeneration with blindness!

Aspirin use also puts people at a 44% increased risk of cataracts.

Of course, there’s always the widely known increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding that accompanies aspirin too

And these sorts of findings weren’t published in some lowly rag. No, the highly respected prestigious rags, like the British Medical Journal, Lancet, and the Journal of the American Medical Association, came to a similar conclusion:aspirin shows no benefit in the prevention of heart attacks!

To Be Continued (part 2) …

I try my best to keep these articles short. But sometimes, especially with an important topic that most everyone is familiar with – like Aspirin – I tend to just keep on writing. Well, I’ll stop for today since I don’t want to overload you with too much information at once.

But in a few days, I’ll send you part two of my article on some of the “evils” of Aspirin and safer alternatives that you can pick up at your local health food and vitamin store.

Summary: Don’t take Aspirin for heart disease issues. It was designed for PAIN and nothing else. It doesn’t do much else other then actually INCREASE the risk of strokes and heart attacks (especially with long-term usage and dosages over 50 mgs).

Not to mention it causes a lot of eye problems (like cataracts and blindness). Stay tuned for the next article on safer alternatives — and don’t worry, they are super cheap!

P.S. No “Hate” eMail Please…

P.S. If you’re thinking about emailing me and saying something like “Sam, you’re crazy … you’re totally wrong … My doctor said blah, blah, blah …” - DON’T! Save your time because I don’t care what your “doctor” had to say.

If you need a prescription for a drug – go see a doctor. You need to get cut open and have surgery – go see a surgeon. If you want to be AND stay healthy – do NOTsee a doctor!

I have numerous doctor friends (myself included =). … So, I have no problems with doctors. But most just don’t have the time, energy or desire to know everything, and I do a lot of personal research on these subjects since they affect me, my friends and family.

You can do your own research and make an informed decision. Trust me, you’ll discover that I am right and I’m not one to “scam” you or feed you a bunch of garbage!

I had to learn all of this the hard way, with my own parents – you may watch the video of it if you want…

This is an important article mainly because so many people eat soy. Please take just a few minutes to read this article as I’ve done my best to really keep it short and just get to the point and state the facts.

One last comment before I start. I know there are MANY people who eat soy and think it’s great because in many ways, they have been “brain washed”. So, I DO understand that you’ve been told differently and the information in this article may go against everything you’ve ever heard or read about soy.

But I don’t have an agenda with this. Think about all the places you’ve seen “pro-soy” information. Were they trying to sell you a soy product? Chances are they were.

I’m just reporting the FACTS below with the THOUSANDS of REAL life clients we’ve had for the past decade who have ALL benefited by getting OFF of soy products.

Soy Puts Your Body In “Emergency Mode”

A few paragraphs below, I’ve listed a few of the diseases attributed to soy intake, but the most important one (for most of us anyway), is that fact that excess soy in the diet pretty much KILLS your thyroid gland (which means … yes, you guessed it - EXCESS body fat !)

The Committee on Toxicity in Foods and the Environment in Great Britain reports that soy phytoestrogens “modulate thyroid hormone synthesis”. They also say: “soy phytoestrogens disrupt the pituitary-gonadal axis”.

This basically means - CASTRATION!

So you have these power glands – the pituitary, the adrenals, and the sex glands – harnessed together, and if one of them is suppressed, the others react, sending the system into “emergency mode”. And that can make you very sick.

Soy definitely suppresses the pituitary, leading to a decrease in thyroid hormone (thyroxin) production, which can cause narcolepsy, infertility, obesity, learning disabilities, constipation, hair loss, and stunted growth. And that is only the short list.

Below are some of the other medical conditions possibly attributable to soy consumption:

Asthma

Chronic fatigue

Depression

Diabetes

Irritable bowel syndrome

Premature or delayed puberty

Rheumatoid arthritis

Thyroid conditions: Graves’ or Hashimoto’s disease, Goiter, Hypothyroidism,

Uterine cancer

The Real SCAM About Soy

Before I go any further … do you even know why soy became popular all of a sudden a few years ago? There was an EXCESS in soy production worldwide! And, they had to figure out a way to “get rid of it” basically.

That my friend, is the basic truth. I know this to be FACT because I know very “important” people high up at the FDA and DEA. I knew about this years ago. But, as usual, it’s all about the money.

Anyway, let’s continue ….

Big Problems For Women!

One of the biggest reasons soy became popular a few years ago was its supposed attributes in helping women “fight off” various cancers and menopause problems. Unfortunately, this hasn’t turned out to be true.

NOTE: If you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. Or, if you are nursing, for sure stay away from ALL soy products. It screws up your hormones in a big way, as well as causing hormonal problems for your baby.

Five recent studies have all shown that soy is worthless in treating the symptoms of menopause. These studies were performed at Monash University (Australia), Iowa State University, the University of Milan (Italy), and Helsinki University (Finland). Wouldn’t you think that your gynecologist would be warning you of this, rather than prescribing artificial estrogen and progesterone, both of which have been proven to be carcinogenic, and thus adding to the problem of soy-induced disease?

Another study, this one out of the University of Pittsburgh, might be the most significant of the damning studies on soy. The researchers found that hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness improved in the placebo group, but NOT in the soy group!

Allow me to summarize these remarkable studies that should blow the lid off the soy ploy (but probably won’t):

Soy does not improve menopausal symptoms compared to placebo.

There is no beneficial effect on frequency, duration, or severity of hot flashes or night sweats with soy.

The best soy could do was to have an equal reduction in symptoms compared to placebo in some studies.

In one of the studies, symptoms were relieved in the placebo group but not in the soy group.

Soy causes insomnia in many patients.

Final Thoughts …

I know for a FACT that soy is horrible for both your thyroid and hormonal levels since I have done many blood tests on myself, friends and family. Now, I’m not saying soy will kill you and maybe ONCE a week or so having some soy won’t do anything bad at all.

But for those of you who are having soy daily, especially if it’s 10% or more of your daily protein intake, STOP it as soon as possible!

You’re going to get fatter, have muscle-loss, get depressed and have much lower SEX drive. In fact, one of the reasons Lean Optimizer® works so well is because it reverses many of the thyroid related problems of soy. Hence, users see AND feel results within the first few weeks, since their thyroids are normalizing for the first time in YEARS thanks to the active ingredients.

And here’s another interesting note … I realized just a few months ago that those who needed higher dosages of Lean Optimizer® to see results, were often people who ate soy. Just some “food for thought” …

For many people, just a little bit of soy intake can shut down their thyroids and cause problems with other hormones (such as testosterone and estrogen). This can lead to increase fat, loss of muscle, depression, hair loss, always feeling cold, brittle nails, watery or swollen eyes, lethargy, sore bones and joints.

Unfortunately, soy is used in many products these days – especially DIET products and low-carb foods. Please read the labels. Reduce ANY and ALL soy consumption. Personally, I think the most soy one should have is just once or maybe twice a week – MAXIMUM.

You don’t need to eliminate it, but for sure MINIMIZE its consumption!

I can go on and on about how IMPORTANT the sun is and how beneficial having a tan is for your overall physical and mental health. But, I’ll touch on some the more important points in this article, as those who have attended my seminars know my opinion on exactly how ignorant/stupid some (or most) dermatologists can be (when it comes to the sun).

First, let’s get right down to it:

The sun does NOT cause melanoma or any other kind of fatal cancer. Many dermatologists warn that it does, but have ZERO scientific evidence to back up their statement. The sun is your FRIEND … but with anything good, a little goes a long way, so don’t over do it.

For the most part, sunscreen doesn’t do much of anything other than preventing a tan - but NOT preventing wrinkles!

Sunglasses can be VERY bad for your eyes, UNLESS you wear the full-spectrum protection ones. The sun does not cause cataracts or other visual problems. The infrared rays from incandescent light bulbs are probably the main cause of cataracts. Use full-spectrum fluorescent lights in your home and office.

The Sun Does NOT Cause Skin Cancer

The past president of the American Academy of Dermatology once said, “Sunscreens are an essential weapon in the fight against skin cancer.” That’s just completely FALSE and there is no scientific justification for such a statement and the REAL scientist and researchers KNOW this.

The type of skin cancer most people are worried about is called “malignant melanoma”. Most dermatologists say or imply that excess sunlight (or ANY kind of sunlight) will cause this disease. Of course, they have NO facts to back it up and most try not to say it, but rather “imply” it.

The REAL scientific fact is that the LACK of ADEQUATE sunlight is a very strong factor in the development of melanoma. Again, I just don’t have enough room in this one article to get into all the facts …

But the sun helps produce a variety of very beneficial hormones, all needed to FIGHT DISEASE. It also helps the body with creating and absorbing Vitamin D … which is needed to absorb Calcium and other important vitamins and minerals … which help to reduce the acidity, alkalize the body and help with proper blood PH (all PROVEN to reduce cancer!).

Sunscreen Won’t Prevent Wrinkles

Did you know that over the past 20 years, skin cancer has been on the rise … and MUCH higher in those that USE SUNSCREEN and parts of the world that don’t receive much sun (like Canada for example)?!!

Basically, here’s how it works: Most sunscreens filter out ultraviolet B rays, which cause the majority of the tanning. Unfortunately, these sunscreens do NOT filter UV A rays very well – and THOSE are the main rays believed to contribute to skin wrinkling and damage.

The so-called “sun protection factor” (SPF) that you read on bottles … are anywhere between 2 to 45, but all they are doing is preventing you from getting a tan, NOT from reducing wrinkles! Of course, nobody tells you this because the sunscreen industry is a multi-BILLION dollar a year business.

Yes … unfortunately, it all comes down to “money”!

NOTE: If you’re going to use sun screen, use one that is “full spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen”that contains Titanium Dioxide and/or Zinc Oxide. And don’t forget to reapply after getting wet. For example, two good products would be Total Block – Clear and Total Block – COTZ. And this is MOST IMPORTANT for children!

Don’t Send Me Hate Mail

I know most people have been BRAIN WASHED into thinking the sun is “bad”. Or that “there is no such thing as a healthy tan”. Do what you want, it’s your body – but I’m just reporting on the FACTS!

Most everything on the earth NEEDS the sun. Your body is made to function better because of it.

The real problem of “sun damage” is when an individual doesn’t go in the sun for a few weeks or months or all winter and the first sign of sunlight, they run to the beach and lay out for hours on end. That’s just ABUSE for your skin.

All you need is about 20-30 minutes of good sunlight every day and you’ll be healthy. Don’t EVER burn.

Take it from a person who has been tanning NON STOP for 20+ years … who has NO wrinkles (well, barely anyway…), nor moles or anything else weird on my skin. You HAVE to get some sun every single day, just do it in moderation and don’t burn.

What’s REALLY Important…

Trust me when I say that a balanced life-style, healthy diet, good exercise program (weights and cardio), happy relationships with lots of love and of course, the management of STRESS - will keep you healthy and without diseases, more than ANYTHING else in this world!

Getting “too much sun” is the LEAST of your concerns.

PS – Don’t forget to take some Vitamin D-3 every day as well. 2000 units daily is a good start (I take between 10,000-15,000 units daily!)

Reference:

Summary: The sun won’t cause cancer and in fact, the LACK of sunlight will cause all sorts of illnesses and diseases. Sunscreens only block the tanning rays of the sun, NOT the rays that cause wrinkles. So, you don’t get a tan, but you get wrinkles – not cool!

If you were sunglasses, make sure they are full-spectrum protection. Your body NEEDS about 20-30 minutes of good sunlight, on MOST of your body (not just your face) every day. The worst thing you can do is BURN, as that’s excessive damage to your skin cells. A little goes a long way!

And don’t forget to take your Vitamin D-3 every day…

NOTE: I realize that the following article may not be of PERSONAL importance to you (especially if you are a MAN), but chances are you know someone that it could affect – like mother, sister, daughter, girlfriend, etc. So please take a quick minute to read it.

A few weeks ago, I received an email from a lady asking if wearing a bra increases breast cancer (a friend had told her this). Well, as odd as that may sound, there is a lot of truth to it.

There have been many studies showing that women who wear bras all the time, even to bed, are 125 times MORE LIKELY to develop breast cancer than a woman who has at NO time worn one. The 24-hour bra wearers face a horrendous75% chance of contracting breast cancer.

In fact, a book entitled “Dressed to Kill” by Sydney Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer talks all about this subject in great detail.

But Wait, Don’t Burn Your Bra Just Yet …

Anyone who knows me, even just a little, knows that I am NOT about “extremes” of any kind - money, food, exercise, work, etc., etc. So, just as many medical studies have flaws, so does this one.

In VERY simple terms … women who wear bras “all the time”, tend to usually have bigger than average breast s. Bigger breast s are usually due to higher estrogen levels. And, higher estrogen tends to trigger cancer more often – especially in the breast s. Of course, that’s just ONE flaw of many with this study.

BUT, please note that it is NOT a good idea to wear your bra ALL the time, as it WILL increase your rate of breast cancer (just not as much as this study or as the book claims). At the very least, don’t wear them to bed. Find a happy medium … The less often you can wear them, the better.
