Are Eggs High In Cholesterol? (Myths & Warnings)

Most people are surprised and shocked that I regularly eat over half a dozen eggs daily and yet, I have very healthy cholesterol levels — averaging between 185-195 mg/dL.

Now, one large chicken egg has about 210 milligrams of cholesterol, almost all of it in the yolk.

So with my average of 6+ eggs daily, I’m taking in well over 1250 milligrams of cholesterol daily just from eggs. And yet… my cholesterol, HDL/LDL levels, triglycerides are all normal and I don’t take any cholesterol medications either – never have and I never will!

And it’s not because of my “genetics”, since over 15 years ago BOTH my parents were diagnosed with “high cholesterol”.

How Can This Be?

… how can I eat so many WHOLE eggs every day and not have high cholesterol?

Well, there are numerous factors – but for now I’ll stick to the egg facts.

YES, eggs have a lot of cholesterol!… Yet, they do NOT increase cholesterol levels and if you consume the right TYPE of egg, they can actually help increase your “good” HDL cholesterol levels!

Studies Prove It

The International Journal of Cardiology1 showed that, in healthy adults, eating eggs every day did not produce a negative effect on cardiac risk; nor did it increase cholesterol levels. Harvard Medical School2 has also arrived at the same conclusion – that the RIGHT type of eggs do not cause negative effects on your cholesterol levels.

The incorrect “studies” that have shown an increase in cholesterol were done in various forms that were all inaccurate. For example:

  1. One study done by Kellogg’s showed an “increase in cholesterol”, but when you looked deeper into the study, you’ll discover that the increase was in the “good” HDL cholesterol.
  2. Another study was done using “dried egg yolk powder”, which is not even “real” and has a totally different nutrition value than regular eggs.
  3. And another study utilized a complete breakfast with eggs … AND toast, butter, bacon and juice – which did raise cholesterol, but it was NOT because of the eggs.

But Wait – The RIGHT Type Of Egg Matters!

As with everything, the “source” matters.

So if you want to enjoy eating eggs, you should really try to eat free-range organic eggs because these have better nutrition profile and higher omega-3 fatty acids.

Best Ways To EAT Your Egg Matters MORE!

Unfortunately, most people eat eggs incorrectly, which then makes them unhealthy.

The BEST way to eat your eggs is raw because heating an egg will damage structure of the protein, which can lead to inflammation and allergies. And the risk of getting salmonella from raw, organic eggs is almost non existent – so you shouldn’t worry about that.

IF you want to heat your egg, soft-boiled is best,… followed by sunny-side up – making the sure yolk is still very runny.

The WORST way to eat your egg is to FRY or overcook the yolk (such as scrambled eggs) because the cholesterol in it becomes oxidized, or rancid, and oxidized cholesterol can increase your levels of inflammation and lead to numerous health problems.

Bottom Line

Even though eggs do increase cholesterol levels, it’s the “good” HDL cholesterol. And many studies have shown that eating 1-2 eggs daily does NOT increase total cholesterol.

But the cholesterol in your foods isn’t really the main cause of a heart attack or stroke. There are many other factors that are far more important – such as your hormone profile, life-style and proper supplementation.

Here’s something else I want you to consider…

The BIG Picture

heart-disease-stats

Did you know that heart disease is the #1 killer2, killing more people each year than ALL the other diseases COMBINED?!!2

So, having healthy cholesterol levels within a normal range is very important... but it's just ONE factor out of many, when it comes to heart health.

You also need to have healthy HDL/LDL ratios, triglycerides, homocysteine and other lipid levels within a normal, youthful range.

The "Problem"

problem-of-cholesterol

Managing your lipid profiles is probably one of the most important aspects to health, fitness & longevity.

Unfortunately, it can sometimes get confusing or you might feel overwhelmed with too much information — what to DO or NOT do.

Plus, making dramatic lifestyle changes — such as eating much better, eliminating lots of different foods and exercising daily — is very important. But for many people, it can be difficult to start and it takes a longer time to see results.

And taking prescription drugs is never a good long-term solution because of all the negative side-effects3...

Now, I'm very familiar with this topic because these are all the same challenges I ran into with both my parents back in 1999.

Most Popular Option:
Faster Results & Easier To Start

Because of this, I wanted a solution for my parents that was safe, worked quickly and was easy.

So I created a simple, very effective and scientifically researched "all-in-one" natural remedy called Cholesterol Optimizer... which is a small pill that helps to naturally:

  • Support healthy cholesterol levels within a normal, youthful range.4
  • Healthy HDL/LDL ratios.4
  • Support healthy triglycerides & Homocysteine levels.4
  • Promote healthy liver function (where 80% of cholesterol is produced).4

One major reason Cholesterol Optimizer ™ is better than other options is because its doctor formulated and scientifically researched to work.

The feedback has been amazing ... and since the product has been around since 1999, you know it works and it's effective!

Anyways, don't take my word for it. Take a look for yourself -- ingredients, reviews, etc. -- and make your own educated decision. Let me know how it works for you...
