Aloe Vera Juice – The 5 Best Benefits & Important Warnings

Aloe Vera is not just used for treating sunburns. It has additional health benefits - especially when juiced! These benefits are backed by clinical and real-life feedback. There are only very minor negatives when drinking aloe vera juice so when you...

Over the past few months, I’ve gotten at least a dozen questions about Aloe Vera juice and if it works, what are the benefits, and are there any negatives.

So, that’s what I’ll discuss today…

What Is It?

Aloe vera juice is a gooey, thick liquid made from the flesh of the aloe vera plant leaf. Growing up, we used it to treat sunburns. You rarely heard about people drinking it. However, it does have additional health benefits outside of treating sunburns.

5 Best Benefits

Today I’m going to give you the 5 best benefits of drinking aloe vera juice, all backed by BOTH clinical studies and anecdotal, real-life feedback.

By the way, one of the great benefits of real, organic aloe vera juice is it doesn’t have your typical sugar content of all other juices on the market – like fruit juice or even most vegetable juices.

An 8 oz, one cup of Aloe vera juice contains no sugar and only 4 grams of carbs, which is just 16 calories.

But you only need about 2 oz to get many of the benefits that I mention today.

1 – More Alkaline

Most people don’t realize that one of the major causes of disease and sickness is being too acidic. And thus, you should try to become more alkaline since our diets and stressful lifestyles — both physical and emotional — cause a very acidic environment in your body.

And thus, the acidity increases your odds of getting sick, various diseases, and so forth.

Yes, I know there are some “experts” who say this is impossible and your body naturally will alkalize itself, and balance your PH, etc., etc. Yes, it will and after years of doing this, it will eventually breakdown and get sick.

I feel very strongly about this and I’ll just leave it here.

Leafy-Vegetables

Needless to say, you should alkalize your body with Aloe Vera juice and other alkaline foods such as:

  • leafy greens
  • root vegetables
  • legumes
  • nuts and seeds
  • fruits

2 – Heartburn & Acid Reflux

The compounds in aloe vera juice help control the secretion of acid in your stomach. The effects have even been shown to combat gastric ulcers and keep them from getting larger. It’s also beneficial for those who have acid reflux.

And one of the big reasons for all of this is also because of the alkalinity effects I mentioned earlier.

3 – Hydration

Most people don’t drink enough water and are walking around dehydrated. They fill themselves up with coffee, soda, and other drinks – all of which have NONE of the benefits of water and they do NOT hydrate the body.

Next time, instead of Gatorade, Vitamin Water, or similar drinks – even coconut water – try some aloe vera juice because it’s very hydrating.

However, don’t overdo it and I’ll share with you why in a minute.

4 – Digestive Benefits

Aloe vera has digestive benefits because it contains several enzymes known to help in the breakdown of sugars and fats and to keep your digestion running smoothly.

Additionally, the juice may also help people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other inflammatory disorders of the intestines.

5 – Lowering Blood Sugar

Ingesting two tablespoons of aloe vera juice per day can cause blood sugar levels to fall in people with type 2 diabetes. And yes, it even works in those without diabetes who simply want to help improve blood sugar levels.

A Negative To Beware Of

There are very minor negatives with Aloe Vera juice, but one of the biggest is the fact that it’s a natural laxative. Thus, helps you go to the bathroom, especially if constipated.

So, when you start taking it, start low.

You only need about 1-2 oz of aloe vera juice daily to start. Even just 1 tablespoon daily to start. Eventually, working up to 2x daily. You do NOT want to exceed 8 oz, which is one cup.

Spread it out throughout the day.

The Best Form To Use
